Indo-French Centre for the Promotion of Advanced Research (IFCPAR)/

Indo-French Centre for Applied Mathematics (IFCAM) UMI 3494 was established in 2012 at Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) in India and the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) in France to build strong joint collaborations in applied mathematics at the interface with physics, computer science and engineering. The IFCAM Programme as Phase II has been renewed by both DST and CNRS through the Amendment in MoU in September, 2017 followed by signing of JID by CEIFPRA on behalf of DST on 1st February, 2018 in Chennai. On the Indian side, Prof. G Rangarajan, Department of Mathematics, IISc is coordinating activities of the Centre at IISc, Bangalore. On the French side Prof. Fabrice Gamboa, IMT Université Paul Sabatier, Toulouse is the coordinator of French co-unit. On the Indian side, IFCAM funding is provided by DST which is coordinated by CEFIPRA & on the French side the funding is provided by CNRS (coordinated by CEFIPRA) , Inria, Ecole Polytechnique, Université de Nice Sophia-Antipolis and Université Paul Sabatier Toulouse III, Université de Pau et des pays de l’Adour and some other French partnering institutes.

CEFIPRA’s role

CEFIPRA facilitates financial aspect and related visits of Indian & French scientists/ students under approved projects, workshops etc.
