BIRAC-CEFIPRA-Bpifrance Programme

Under the Framework of Targeted Programme of CEFIPRA and the MoU signed in February, 2014 between BIRAC, Department of Biotechnology, Government of India and CEFIPRA to foster collaboration in the area of biotechnology, a programme was initiated for supporting high-quality bilateral innovative research projects towards new concepts and technological breakthroughs in human health technology. Bpifrance, a public investment bank from France, joined hands with CEFIPRA and BIRAC. The partnership aims to improve the competitiveness of both Indian and French biotech industries and academia.

Objectives

  1. Support high-quality bilateral research projects that combine innovative approaches towards new concepts and technological development
  2. Encourage and enable Indo-French collaboration between industry-industry linkages or industry-industry-academia linkages

Areas

Cancer, Cardiac, Infectious Diseases, digital healthcare (e-health, Tele-care, health IT, m-health, etc.) and individualized medicine (therapeutic solutions for individual patients, pharmacogenetics, etc.)

Who can apply

Proposed Project shall have at least one Company from India and one from France each as joint applicant. A registered Company from India along with the registered company from France or Vis-à-vis shall be the Joint Applicants (1+1 model). The applicant could be start-up / SME Company of both regions. They can have Co- Applicants and Collaborators from Academia, Research Institution, National Laboratory, Clinical Establishment, For Profit Company, Not-for-Profit Organization, Society, LLP, Trust or Foundation.
