APPLICATION PROCEDURE FOR COLLABORATIVE RESEARCH PROJECTS
Any collaborative research project should be proposed by one Indian and one French research scientist jointly. In general the scientist concerned should have at least a few years of active research experience in the theme of the project.
General Guidelines:
Indian and French collaborators are expected to be under service at the time of completion of the project. If a scientist is already working on a collaborative project sanctioned by IFCPAR as PC or JC, he/she can not submit another project under IFCPAR as PC or JC in the same category.
For a group of Collaborators who have implemented one project under IFCPAR programme and want to submit the second project, the following guideline is applicable.
- If the first project is graded excellent or very good, they can submit the second project immediately after the final presentation of the first. In other cases a three-year-wait period is needed.
Any Scientist who has implemented two projects under IFCPAR programme either as Principal Collaborator or Joint Collaborator cannot apply for a third project unless there is a gap of three years after the completion of second project.

Evaluation:
Each collaborative research proposal is peer reviewed by not less than two expert referees in India, and not less than two expert referees in France, simultaneously. After the peer review in both the countries is completed, the Scientific Council examines the project proposal based on the views of the referees as well as the Council's collective wisdom.
The evaluation of the proposals for seminars/workshops is also done in the same way.
The procedure for evaluation of collaborative research projects involving industry is currently being worked out. The evaluation process will take into account the requirement of confidentiality of the industrial and research know how involved. |
